Elf name generator
Elves live long enough that a name has to survive several human lifetimes without wearing out. Elven names run long and vowel-rich, with liquid consonants (l, r, n, th) and almost no hard stops. An elf named Grok has some explaining to do.

How elves are named
A melodic given name paired with a compound family name. Elven surnames like Galanodel and Xiloscient are not descriptive the way human ones are; they are lineage markers whose original meaning has faded over centuries.
Picking one that works at the table
- Elven names reward being said aloud. If it takes effort to pronounce, it will get shortened at the table and you lose the effect.
- Resist stacking apostrophes. One is a flourish; three is a parody of the genre.
- Many elves use a shorter "common" name among non-elves. Picking both gives you a free roleplay hook.
Using these names
