How gnomes are named

A playful given name with unusual consonant clusters, plus a family name of similar energy. The rhythm matters more than the meaning. Boddynock, Namfoodle, and Jebeddo are funny before they are anything else.

Picking one that works at the table

Gnome names should be slightly hard to say. That friction is the characterisation.
Give a gnome a long formal name and a one-syllable name friends use. It is entirely in genre.
If the name makes the table smile the first time it is said, keep it.
